What Is an FMS / SFMA Screen?

The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) helps us look at how your body moves through basic patterns like squatting, lunging, reaching, and stability.

The Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) takes it a step further when pain or limitation is involved, helping us break down movement restrictions and find where the real issue may be coming from.

Benefits of Getting Screened

Directs Us to the Root Cause of Pain

We provide a hands on approach to finding the root of your problem and helping you fix it.

Improves Painful Movements

FMS helps improve painful movements by identifying and addressing underlying dysfunctions.

Promotes Longevity and Independence

The benefit of getting screened with FMS is enhanced longevity and independence by optimizing movement and preventing future issues.

Prevent Injuries

Getting screened with FMS helps prevent injuries by identifying and correcting movement imbalances.

Rising Stars

Young athletes or gym-goers eager to enhance their skills, improve performance, and stay injury-free on their journey to success,

Who is SFMA for?

Best for people WITH Pain

When movement doesn’t feel right, we look beyond the surface. Assessing mobility, joint motion, and movement quality helps us better understand where your body may be restricted or compensating.

This gives us a clearer picture of how your body is functioning and where problems may actually be starting.

Assessing How Your Body Moves

Looking Beyond the Pain

Pain is not always coming from the place you feel it most. Tightness, flexibility limitations, and movement restrictions in one area can often create stress somewhere else in the body.

A more in-depth assessment helps us identify what may be contributing to the problem so we can better guide the next step in your care.

What Happens Next?

Your screen is designed to help us identify how your body is moving and whether there may be restrictions, compensation patterns, or deeper issues contributing to the problem.

From there, we’ll help guide you toward the best next step based on what we find. For some people, that may simply mean a few key recommendations. For others, it may mean a more thorough evaluation to better understand the root cause and create a plan moving forward.

Our Goal Is Simple

To help you understand what your body needs — and give you a clear path forward.

Whether you need: a better movement strategy, a more thorough evaluation, or a structured plan to restore function

we’ll help you determine the best next step based on your body and your goals.
